Central Illinois West Coast Swing/Swing Dance Practice Night.

Hello Dancers,

Everything is the same as last week except I am told the cleaning crew got after the floor more aggressively this week than in the past weeks. I have not been given access to CL to verify this so we'll see when I get there tonight? The complaints about the relative stickiness of the floor have not gone unnoticed and several of us are working on different solutions.7 pm until ?????????? at Chantilly.

I have been contacted by a couple in the Champaign area that will be here visiting Springfield tonight and would like to join us. Please welcome them.

The total of our $3 donations has, as of last week, exceeded $1,000.00. Many suggestions have been made as to what to do with it. No disbursements have been made and none will be made without first getting a consensus.

Hello Dancers,

 

 

No surprises this week.  Everything is the same this week. 7 pm until ?????????? at Chantilly Lace.

 

 

Several of you have brought situations/issues to my attention over the last couple weeks. I get that you are wanting to make Wednesday night dance practice more enjoyable and less stressful. For this I thank you. And still there are others that have stopped coming or have not come b/c of the following. 

1)     Some women feel uncomfortable asking man to dance. What if anything would (improve their odds of getting a yes) make this easier and less threatening? 

2)     Some couples would prefer to dance with their significant other only. What if anything can we do to accommodate them?

3)     Some couples would like to dance only with the one they brought and a select group of others. What if anything can we do to accommodate them?

4)     Some men feel uncomfortable asking women to dance who are with her significant other.

 

I welcome any suggestions you may have regarding how to overcome this reoccurring issue.

I will update you via email with the suggestions that come in.

Late breaking news:

The Illustrious Kim Beachy Returns.

Late last night our reporter learned that Ms. Beachy may join us tonight along with one of her out-of-town girl friends who also is, we're told, an accomplished dancer herself. Keeping you up to date with the latest!!! ( talk about putting a spin on things – how about that for a spin on a tardy email ). We hope both Kim and her friend can join us tonight.

 

For those of you that would like to see what the best West Coaster in Springfield looks like dancing, tonight would be a good night to be at Chantilly. No pressure Kim. 

 

You should also know there is a group that gets together for some Latin dancing from 6:30pm – 7pm (just before West Coast dancing) Wednesday night at Chantilly. West Coasters get started at 7pm at Chantilly and goes to ??????

 

 

Mr. Gene Gene The Dancing Machine and Mrs. Gene Gene The Dancing Machine still have 3 more weeks before their other Wednesday night commitments are finished L. Also this reporter heard, Springfield's medical community will be well represented tonight at Chantilly. Thank you Bill Roth and Rosie for explaining how to email a group of and maintain their anonymity—I think I've got it.
